Short version: the only thing this site collects is what you type into the enquiry form, and it is used to reply to you. Nothing else, and it goes nowhere else.

What gets collected

When you send the form, I receive:

• your name
• your email address
• your phone number, only if you choose to give one — the field is optional
• the message you write

Alongside that, the form service records the IP address, browser and referring page the message was sent from. That is used to catch spam, and I have no use for it beyond that.

If you do not use the form, nothing about you is collected at all.

Why I am allowed to hold it

You asked me to get in touch, so holding your details long enough to answer is a legitimate interest — and where the conversation is about possible work, it is also a step towards a contract at your request.

What I do with it

I read it and reply. That is the whole purpose.

It does not go on a mailing list. It is not sold, rented, shared or passed to anyone else. You will not be signed up to anything by sending an enquiry.

Who else can see it

• Netlify hosts this site and handles the form. Your message is stored in their system and emailed to me, so their staff could technically access it. They act on my instructions and nothing more.
• Google Fonts supplies the two typefaces this page uses. Your browser fetches them from Google, which means Google sees your IP address when the page loads. This happens whether or not you use the form, and it is the only third-party request the site makes.

How long it is kept

Enquiries are kept while there is a reason to — an ongoing conversation, or a job that came from it. When there is no longer a reason, they are deleted. Ask me to delete yours sooner and I will, without asking why.

Cookies and tracking

There are none. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and contains no tracking scripts or advertising pixels. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email hello@arlabs.co.uk and I will deal with it within a month, usually far sooner.

If you think I have handled your information badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I would rather you told me first so I can put it right.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it.
